No child "left" behind...

Liberalism on campuses has been in the news lately. My oldest attends a university in Minnesota and I can attest that the problem is not exaggerated.
He recently took a class that involved the evaluation of media. The instructor, known for her extreme Liberal viewpoint, presented two lists of websites. One was, in her opinion, a list of fair and honest sites. The other was a list of what she considered to be biased. The "fair and honest" list contained only liberal sites. They were not even masquerading as balanced. While the "biased" list did in fact some biased sites, they were all right-wing biased. The remainder would be considered, in my opinion, to be fair and honest. The assignment was to write a paper on why her list of "fair and honest" were balanced. Sort of a dilemma. The students who disagreed with her were docked. Basically they fed her what she wanted to hear just to get the grade.
She is up for department head for next year and there are students who will protest this. Thank God that students on both sides of the issues are willing to stand up for freedom of thought and expression. No professor should have the right to shove their political (or any other personal) viewpoint down the throats of their students.
